Chris White is a ceramist, potter and wilderness guide based in Kuusamo, northern Finland. He trained at the world famous Poole Pottery in Dorset England, and was attracted to Finland for its respect for quality design, and the purity of nature in the far north. You can see and feel this deep connection with the nature reflected in his ceramic forms.

Chris works mostly with porcelain, which is hand-thrown on the potters wheel, turned on a lathe to give a super fine surface.

After firing the porcelain at a high temperature it is translucent; the light shines through the clay creating soft shades, making it perfect for lighting systems, and all types of interiors.

Inspirations for his designs come from the natural elements of ice, and snow as well as the shades of light which are a strong influence on life in the Arctic.
